Jesús Ortega

Jesús Ortega (Badajoz, Extremadura, 1979) is considered the most international dancer and choreographer in Extremadura, the region that, together with Murcia and Andalusia, consolidated flamenco as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2010. Not in vain, Jesús Ortega is the benchmark for dance flamenco from this region not only as a teacher and soloist on stage and in his Flamenco Center, but also in the classrooms, where he has become the advisory technician for the University of Extremadura and the Diputación de Badajoz in the program “Aula Flamenco” that has already Consolidated, it is already part of the Flamenco en Red de Andalucía project, and of the didactic program of Universities such as that of Cádiz.

 Soloist and choreographer of the teacher Cristina Hoyos throughout his career he has worked as a dancer and choreography assistant with directors of the stature of José Carlos Plaza in productions such as “Yerma”, “Romancero Gitano”, or “Poema del cante jondo”. ”. As a dancer he took part in the film Hanna (2011) by British director Joe Wright, starring Saoirse Ronan, Eric Bana and Cate Blanchett. Also, as a dancer and choreography assistant for Cristina Hoyos, in the film “Lola” (2007) directed by Miguel Hermoso and which narrates the life of the artist Lola Flores (La Faraona).

 The international vision of his way of conceiving flamenco has brought him before figures of public relevance such as the Duchess of Alba, the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker Bowles or the Emperor of Japan Naruhito.
