Tablao Flamenco Cordobes, vindicating its commitment to Flamenco and promoting its young promises, joined the „II International Flamenco Dance Choreographic Competition“ that took place on December 3 and 4 at the Enrique de la Cuadra Municipal Theater in the city from Utrera.
The contest added among all its categories more than 250 participants from cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Tarragona, Toledo, Murcia, Granada, Huelva, Seville, Almería, Malaga and countries such as Japan and France.
For this edition, the jury was made up of Luis Adame, founder and owner of Tablao Flamenco Cordobes, the bailaoras Manuela Carrasco, and Adela Campallo, and the bailaor Eduardo Leal.
The contest prizes were:
Special mention consisting of a scholarship for the National Ballet of Spain for María Carrasco.
Second prize endowed with 500 euros in cash plus a week of work at the ‚Alegría‘ tablao in Malaga, and the ‚Carmen‘ tablao in Barcelona for the bailaora Carmela Riqueni.
First prize ‚La Cantiña de Pinini‘ consisting of 1,000 euros in cash, a fortnight’s work at the ‚Tablao Flamenco Cordobes‘ in Barcelona, a week’s work at the ‚Los Porches‘ tablao in Madrid and a week’s work at the ‚tablao‘ Palosanto‘ from Valencia for María Carrasco and Rocío Reyes jointly.
