Susana Sánchez

Susana Sánchez, born in Granada, began her flamenco training at the age of 4 at Academia de Baile Marichú. In 2003, she was selected to participate in the first course of the Centro Flamenco de Estudios Escénicos, directed by Mario Maya, a key milestone in her artistic development. She furthered her training with renowned figures such as Eva la Yerbabuena, José Antonio, Andrés Marín, Belén López and Juan Ramírez.

From an early age, she performed in major venues in Granada, including Teatro Isabel la Católica and Teatro Alhambra. In 1992, she performed at the Pabellón de Andalucía during Expo 92 in Seville. In 1996, she premiered her first show, “OJARANZA”, touring cities such as Granada, Seville, Córdoba and Almería.

At the age of 18, she began combining her training with a professional career, performing regularly in leading tablaos across Spain. Her appearances include venues in Granada such as Venta del Gallo (Cuevas del Sacromonte), Jardines de Zoraya and Palacio de los Olvidados; in Madrid at Cardamomo and Torres Bermejas; in Seville at Tablao El Arenal and Casa de la Memoria; in Málaga at Tablao La Alegría; and in Barcelona at Tablao Flamenco Cordobes.

She has also participated in flamenco cycles organized by prestigious peñas such as La Platería (Granada), La Yerbabuena (Ogíjares), Torres Macarena (Seville) and La Perla de Cádiz.

In 2010, she received an award at the Festival Flamenco de Las Gabias. In February 2020, she won First Prize at the Concurso Flamenco Puro de Turín de la Frontera, in the Professional Soloist category, במסגרת the Festival de Jerez.

In 2021, she founded her own company, Cía Susana Sánchez, premiering the productions “DE TRÁNSITO” and “ETÉREO”, both currently on tour. Alongside her company work, she continues to collaborate in international productions, performing across Europe and Asia.
