Paloma Fantova and Miguel El Rubio in November

The best flamenco returns to Las Ramblas in Barcelona thanks to Tablao Flamenco Cordobes. During the month of November the historic tablao -founded in 1970- hosts the show 'Encounters at Pinnacle of Dance' with artists of international standing such as the dancers Sara Barrero, Paloma Fantova and Miguel El Rubio and the singer María Carmona among others. Miguel El Rubio debuted at the tender age of 5 in the show 'Los Gnomos del Flamenco' by Antonio Fernández "Farru". At the age of 8 she participated in 'Triana Pura' at the Seville Biennial, one of the most important flamenco festivals in the world. Throughout his career he has danced with artists such as Pastora Galván, Ricardo Miño, Farruco, Remedios Amaya and Rocío Molina among others. Miguel El Rubio has also performed at festivals and theatres in France, Belgium, Greece, Morocco, Japan and Norway, among others.

Paloma Fantova and Sara Barrero

Along with Miguel El Rubio will be Paloma Fantova, a dancer born in Cadiz who feels flamenco from an early age (she starts dancing at the age of 4 and wins a TVE talent contest at the age of 8). Paloma Fantova took part in Manuela Carrasco’s choreographies in Japan and toured theatres all over the world such as New York, Washington, Paris, London and Cairo. In 2011 she participated in Joaquín Cortés’ show “Calé” and in 2012 she alternates his presence in Tablao Flamenco Cordobes with the presentation of his own show “Sensibilidades”. Paloma Fantova has also participated in Tomatito’s works and in the show in homage to the great dancer Carmen Amaya, produced by Tablao Flamenco Cordobes, together with Karime Amaya and Pastora Galván.

 

Sara Barrero is a Catalan dancer who began her professional career with 16 years in Barcelona and, a few years later, already visited halls and festivals around the world as the tablao El Flamenco in Japan. Throughout her career she has shared the stage with great artists such as: Eva La Yerbabuena, Maite Martín, Belén Maya, Fernando Terremoto, Rafael de Carmen, Manuela Carrasco, Tomatito, Juana Amaya, Farruquito and Jesús Carmona among others. She has also danced in cities such as Paris, Marseille, London, Tokyo, Prague and the US Flamenco Festival.
