This Thursday, April 25, Tablao Flamenco Cordobes hosted the presentation of the Ciutat Flamenco Festival, an appointment with flamenco culture with the collaboration of the historic local Las Ramblas in Barcelona. From 16 to 31 May the city once again becomes the epicentre of flamenco with performances, talks and workshops organised within the programme of the Festival Ciutat Flamenco de Tablao de Músics. 

In this new edition (reaching 26th), Tablao Flamenco Cordobes will participate with two shows (May 19th and 26th) in its clear commitment to the defence and diffusion of flamenco in Catalonia. The historic tablao, founded in 1970 and about to turn 50 years old, will participate with two shows that will feature the dancers Juan de Juan, Karime Amaya and Paloma Fantova and guitarist David Cerreduela among other great artists of international stature. 

In 2019, the year in which the 40th anniversary of the Taller de Músics is celebrated, the festival will host the first edition of the Congress on Flamencology and Flamenco Pedagogy. The Ciutat Flamenco Festival will feature artists such as Chicuelo (which will open the festival on 16 May), María Terremoto, Antonio Lizana, Rocío Márquez, Pere Martínez, Iberiana, Antonio Rey and La Chana among others.  

Maria Terremoto and Antonio Rey will present their latest works in the Luz de Gas concert hall, “La huella de mi sentío” and “Dos partes de mí”, respectively, on 29th and 30th May. Rocío Márquez will present for the first time in Catalonia “Visto en el jueves”, in a concert in the Auditori, while Antonio Lizana, in Luz de Gas, will review the songs from “De Cádiz a Nueva York”.

The festival will close with the show “Bailaoras. El Nuevo Tiempo”, with La Chana as guest artist.
