Rafael Campallo

Rafael Campallo is a flamenco dancer born in Seville. At the age of 11 he began his flamenco studies with José Galván, a formation that he later expanded with Manolo Marín. At the age of 16 Rafael Campallo was already performing solo as a guest artist from Spain and Japan. In 1992 he joined the famous show “Azabache” at the Universal Exhibition in Seville and was selected by María Pagés for “Tango”, a show that premiered at the Seville Biennial. In 1996 he participated in “Por aquí te quiero ver” by Manuel Soler and “La Raíz del Grito” by Manuela Carrasco. She also joins the Andalusian Dance Company, directed by Mario Maya.

In 1999 the new director José Antonio incorporates him as choreographer and first dancer for “Golpes de la Vida”. That same year he wins the Premio Desplante at the Festival de Cante de Las Minas and begins to collaborate with Vicente Amigo. Later he began to participate in works such as “Flamenco se escribe con jota” by Miguel Ángel Berna and premiered his production “Puente de Triana” at the 2010 Jerez Festival. At the Seville Biennial in 2012 he was one of the artists invited to participate in the closing gala.
