STUDIES: He started his studies at the age of 7 in La Macarena and El Niño de Morón. Graduated in Spanish Dance and Flamenco by the Institute of Theatre and Spanish Dance in Barcelona. He has also took different courses with masters such as Bárbara Kasprovich, Rodolfo Castellanos, Ion Garnica, Carmen Huguet and Ion Beitia in Classic Dance, Escuela Bolera with César Casares, Pilar Cambra, Rosa Alba and Montse Lloret, with Gilberto Ruiz-Lang, Elisenda Castells and Avelina Arguelles Danza Contemporánea, and flamenco with Sonia Poveda, Nacho Blanco, Antonio Canales, María Magdalena, Domingo Ortega, Eva Yerbabuena, Belén Fernández, Ángel Rojas, Juana Amaya, Rafaela Carrasco or Manuela Carrasco, among others.

CAREER: His professional debut was in the Zorrilla Theatre with the Orchestra of the Liceo Theatre of Barcelona at the age of 16. Since that moment he started his professional career joining the New Spanish Ballet and other companies such as Carmen Cortés, El Güito, Esther Carrasco, Antonio Canales, La Truco and Mónica Fernández.

The year 2006 was a very important year for his professional career because he released the show “El Silencio de La Luna” which was very acclaimed by the public and the critic. That same year his efforts, dedication and talent were recognized by being elected to join the National Spanish Ballet as a dancer and, one year later, as the main dancer in the company in which he has performed in works such as: Albarada del Gracioso by Maestro Granero, Golpes de la Vida by Rojas y Rodríguez, or Ritmos by Alberto Lorca, standing out in all of them by his work, technique, style and artistic talent.

During 2010 he participated as guest artist in the tour of Rojas y Rodríguez through Asia, with the National Spanish Ballet in the show Corazón de Piedra Verde and teaching different courses and masterclasses in different countries such as India, Netherlands, France or Italy.

His concern and his enthusiasm in developing his artistic talent and his career brought him to quit the National Spanish Ballet and embark on a new adventure Cuna Negra y Blanca.

This last 2012 he took part of the Pastora Galván’s Company, he collaborated in the show Duquende as main dancer and won the Desplante Prize in the 52º International Sing Festival of Las Minas de La Unión.

Throughout 2015 she has taught in different dance schools in Spain and around the world and on December 1, 2015 she premiered her new show “IMPETU’S” at the Teatro Nuevo Apolo in Madrid. In 2016 he took this show to the Festival de Flamenco de Jerez and in 2017 to various places around the world such as Miami, Albuquerque, Santiago de Chile and Los Angeles.

In 2017 he also toured America (North and South) giving a master class and lectures on Spanish and Flamenco Dance.
In 2017 he also participated in the Flamenco Gala produced by the Flamenco Festival in London, Miami and New York, the Suma Flamenca in Madrid and the Festival de Mont de Marsan, France. During 2017 he continues to give master classes in Japan. In the USA, in Miami, Boston, Albuquerque, San Francisco and San Diego. In Brazil. In Chile. In Argentina and Spain.
As a culmination of his prolific 2017, in the third week of December, he makes his company debut in Australia.

In 2018 the year begins with a new production “CAMINO” created for an important tablao in Madid and with great success.

During the following months and within the Flamenco Festival he participated with IMPETU’S in London, Manchester, Boston, N.Y. and Portland, receiving the best reviews from the international press and great recognition from the public, appearing on the cover and in different articles on three occasions in a single week in The New York Times, and called by the newspaper “A FENOMENO OF THE FLAMENCO WORLD”.

During this same period he collaborated with Chano Domínguez at Jazz at Lincoln Center, sharing the stage with great artists such as Dick Hyman, Sullivan Fortner, Joey Alexander, Eddie Tarres Jr. and Jared Grines.

During the month of May, “CORRIENTES: MOVEMENT WITH PURPOSE” by the artists Lulo River, Luís Olazábal, Omany Torres and Ricardo Cornejo was exhibited at the ECCE MIAMI in May, winning numerous nominations and awards at video dance festivals around the world with the video IMPETUS: FLAMENCO’S DRIVING FORCE.

On 6 April AMATØR premiered at the Juan Bravo Theatre in Segovia, with great success, and was then taken to the Royal Coliseum of Carlos III in El Escorial.

Later he toured the USA and Argentina with workshops and masterclasses with lectures and a pedagogical show “Ensayo de una Vida” (Essay of a Life), created and produced by Jesús Carmona for alternative spaces where he explores his most intimate feelings for a small audience and which has been performed in Portland, Boston and Miami.

During 2018 Jesus will be with Impetu’s at the Dubai Opera House, the Suzhou Arts Center and AmatØr at the Irvine Barclay Theatre in Los Angeles.

Due to the didactic and creative importance of workshops, courses and classes, it will also be active in the pedagogical project “Essay of a Life” throughout 2018 and 2019.

FESTIVALS: Suma Flamenca 2013, Festival Flamenco de La Villette, Festival Cante de las Minas, Festival de Jerez, Bienal de Sevilla, Jueves Flamencos de Cajasol. In 2017 he took part in the Flamenco Gala produced by the Flamenco Festival in London, Miami, N.Y., Suma Flamenca (Madrid) and Festival de Mont de Marsan – France. In 2018 he toured London, Manchester, Miami, New York, Boston, Portland, France, Brazil, Italy, Bulgaria…

AWARDS: Prize for the Best Outstanding Dancer at the XX Spanish and Flamenco Dance Competition in Madrid in 2011, awarded with the Desplante Prize at the Festival de las Minas de la Unión 2012, nominated for the Escenario Bailarín 2012 Prize (Seville), in 2013 he won the 2nd Prize at the National Flamenco Festival of Córdoba and in 2014 he was nominated for the MAX prizes as best principal dancer.
With 7 Balconies, he got three nominations for the Max Awards for the Performing Arts 2015: Jesús Carmona, Best Principal Dancer. Daniel Jurado, Best Music and Vanesa Coloma, Jesús Corbacho, Fabi and Daniel Jurado, Best Cast.
Jesús Carmona has been awarded the LUKAS 2018 prize in London for best dance performer and IMPETU’S for best dance production.
