Tablao Flamenco Cordobes is one of the most important and legendary flamenco venues in Spain, due to its brilliant artistic program, which changes every 20 days or so. The most important flamenco artists from Spain and Catalonia and the young talents that are bursting onto the flamenco scene have performed on its stage. This cicle, it has brought together some of the young winners of the most important flamenco awards in Spain and Catalonia during the year 2023, often accompanied by other already established artists.

Karime Amaya

 

Karime Amaya, great-niece of Carmen Amaya, began her career as a flamenco dancer at the age of 9. She has participated in major flamenco festivals around the world, sharing the stage with renowned artists. In 2011 she presented "Amaya Linaje", a tribute to her family, and in 2012 "Desde la Orilla" at the Jerez Festival. In 2013 she participated in "Con Carmen Amaya en la Memoria", a tribute show to Carmen Amaya. 

 

Juan Antonio Fernández "Barullo"

 

Juan Antonio Fernández, known as Barullo, is a renowned flamenco dancer born in Seville in 1990. He comes from a distinguished flamenco family and began his career at an early age. He has performed as a soloist in famous theaters such as the Royal Albert Hall and the Town Hall in New York. He shared the stage with artists of the caliber of Beyoncé and Björk, and founded his own dance school in Pamplona in 2012. He was also the principal dancer at the Tablao Cordobés in Barcelona.

 

Pedro Córdoba

 

A dancer and choreographer from Sabadell, has extensive training in dance styles such as Classical Ballet, Spanish Dance, and flamenco. He has collaborated with renowned artists like Enrique Morente and participated in prominent dance companies. As a choreographer, he has contributed to shows like "Reciclarte" and "Eterno Picasso". Currently, he is a prominent teacher at the "Amor de dios" school in Madrid and runs the Flamenco Madrid Cultural Center, presenting his own shows nationally and internationally.

 

Carlos Velázquez

 

Carlos Velázquez began his dance career at the age of 5, debuting at the Alcázar theater in Madrid when he was 8. He trained at the Real Conservatory of Madrid and the Amor de Dios Dance School. He has worked as a solo dancer in renowned companies and performed in various countries and theaters in Spain. He has participated in different tablaos in Madrid and currently directs the flamenco tablao Cantares in addition to working in other tablaos.

 

Inés Rubio

 

Inés Rubio, born in Reus in 1983, is a flamenco dancer trained by Jaime Cala and José Manuel Álvarez. She moved to Seville in 2010 to deepen her studies with masters such as Farruquito and Juana Amaya. She has performed in renowned flamenco tablaos and traveled countries like Russia and Japan. She was part of the show "LA CUMBRE DEL BAILE" and has produced her own shows, like the recent "De la Tierra".

 

Zaira Prudencio

 

Zaira Prudencio is a prominent flamenco dancer who has shone in Seville and Madrid. She has performed in renowned tablaos such as Cardamomo and Las Carboneras, and has participated in shows by pianist Andrés Barrios and in the Passion for Flamenco Festival. She has received training from high-level masters such as Farruquito and Manuela Carrasco, and has won prizes in various tablao contests. Zaira continues to captivate the public with her flamenco art.

Cristina Soler

Zaira Prudencio is a prominent flamenco dancer who has shone in Seville and Madrid. She has performed in renowned tablaos such as Cardamomo and Las Carboneras, and has participated in shows by pianist Andrés Barrios and in the Passion for Flamenco Festival. She has received training from high-level masters such as Farruquito and Manuela Carrasco, and has won prizes in various tablao contests. Zaira continues to captivate the public with her flamenco art.

 

Susana Sánchez

A flamenco dancer born in Granada, has consolidated her experience in contemporary and classical dance at various international festivals and courses. She has performed at renowned tablaos in Spain and took her show "CARMEN" to China in 2017. In 2021, she premiered "DE TRÁNSITO" and directs her show "ETÉREO". She won the First Prize of the Pure Flamenco Contest Turín de la Frontera at the Jerez Festival in 2020.

 

Susana Escoda

Dancer who is part of a young generation of very talented Catalan artists. He took his first professional steps at Tablao Cordobés. She has shared the stage with the most important artists of the world and with her husband Antonio Toleo toured Japan on numerous occasions. His style is that of the most innovative and current flamenco. His mastery of rhythm, and the integration of his dancing with singing and playing are astounding.

Sara Barrero

This Catalan dancer began her professional career at the age of 16. She has shared the stage with great artists such as: Eva La Yerbabuena, Maite Martín, Belén Maya, Fernando Terremoto, Rafael de Carmen, Manuela Carrasco, Tomatito, Juana Amaya, among others.

José Escarpín

He began his studies at the age of 7 with great teachers such as the great masters Juan Ramirez, Carlos Velazquez, Alfonso Losa, Jose Maya, Nino Reyes, Antonio Canales, Tony "El Pelao" and LaTati among others. He is the winner of the "WORLD RECORD GUINNESS 2010” of heel tapping and winner of the "MELÓN DE ORO" festival of "LO FERRO" the only dancer in the world with this award.

José Maya

José Rafael Maya Serrano, known as José Maya, is a flamenco dancer born in Madrid in 1983, into a Roma family of artists. From the age of nine, he has stood out for his exceptional talent, participating in festivals and shows at the national and international level. He has received awards such as the Copa Pavón at the Salzburg Festival in 1998 and Best Dancer at the Choreography Contest of the Albéniz Theatre in Madrid in 2000. A collaborator with recognized artists, he has captivated audiences with his passion and skill in flamenco art

Sara Barrero
