Ismael de la Rosa “El Bola”

Ismael de la Rosa Gonzalez, artistically known as "El Bola", was born in Seville in 1995 within the Fernandez, a family with a long artistic tradition in the world of flamenco, since the founder and patriarch, Curro Fernandez, initiated it. He has grown up listening and living flamenco from within, so you could say that, in this case, flamenco comes from family.

By the hand of his uncle, Curro Fernandez, Ismael El Bola joined the professional flamenco world very young. Curro Fernández, Fernández patriarch, has been one of the great singers of accompaniment for dancing recently. From the very Pilar Lopez to Matilde Coral, through Manuela Vargas, Lola Flores and Manuela Carrasco, among others. His father, known as Ismael Fernandez, also singer and a regular contributor Sonia Olla, is an important singer to accompany the dance, having worked for major artists such as Marina Heredia, El Torombo, Leonor Moro, Manuel Liñan, Rafaela Carrasco, Alfonso Losa, Joselillo Romero, Olga Pericet, Marcos Flores and María Pagés.

Although it was already usual for him to sing during the final part of the shows in which participated his family, he wasn’t even 7 years old when he made his professional in the Festival of Biarritz, a major festival of Latin American cinema, where he performed in a tribute. During the same year he also participated in the tribute show to Bernarda de Utrera “4 generations,” presented at the Maestranza in Seville theater, and toured Japan (Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo) with his family.

When he was 8, Ismael El Bola worked in the show “Songs before a War” of Maria Pagés, presented at the theater Villamarta in Jerez and Seville’s Bienal, in the Maestranza Theater.

Later, he collaborated in various festivals with artists such as Juana Amaya, Capullo de Jerez and Jose Valencia, among others; besides collaborating in the show “30 dB” of “The Girl Stamps” presented at the Bienal de Sevilla.

More recently, Ismael El Bola participated in some of the items that appeared on the last album recorded by José Anillo and has performed in presentations of the latest album of Esperanza Fernandez in the theater Fernando Fernan Gomez de Madrid and the Teatro Lope de Vega in Seville, with Pastora Galván and David Dorantes.

His most recent collaborations have been in the shows “Step two” of Marcos Flores and Olga Pericet; “Oak” and “Remember when then,” Guadalupe Torres; “Halftime” and “Moments” show co-produced by Sonia Olla and his father Ismael Fernandez and “From 2000 and peak” Pedro Córdoba, where he composed some of the themes that are used in the show, in a dance that makes a tour of flamenco. No fusion mixtures, or forays into other dances. A traditional but current show.

The young singer has already performed in New York and New Mexico. He has also been through other countries like Japan, France and Switzerland, among others, and though unhurried, has in mind and the idea of ​​recording his first album: “At the moment, I’m still learning, today one must be very well prepared – “he says enthusiastically”.

Ismael “the ball” has begun to work on several tablaos of Madrid, Casa Patas or tablao Villarrosa and finally it lands for the first time in Barcelona to debut in Tablao Flamenco Cordobes Barcelona.
