The Farruco and Galván families receive the Silver Mosque of Tablao Flamenco Cordobes in recognition of their contribution to flamenco art
BARCELONA, February 2, 2017. Tablao Flamenco Cordobes of Barcelona celebrated the delivery of its sixth Silver Mosque last night. An honorary award that, since 1973, the historic tablao of Las Ramblas has given different personalities and entities in the defense of the values of flamenco art, as an instrument of cohesion and a meeting point for society.
In this 6th edition, the Silver Mosque was given to two families: the Fernández Montoya “Farruco” and the Galván. For its influence on the living aesthetics of dance in a broad spectrum that ranges from the purest classicism to the most advanced avant-garde.
The plurality of the guests who attended the charity ceremony was constituted by different strata of society, including representatives of art, culture and tourism in the city. The totality of the contributions, matched by Tablao Flamenco Cordobes, was entirely allocated to Cáritas.
The godmother in charge of delivering the Mosque was La Chana, recognized representative of Catalan flamenco. Members of both families were also present at the ceremony, such as Farruquito, Farru, El Carpeta, José Galván and Pastora Galván.
The delivery ceremony gave way to the show, and the show to the party. The evening ended with two of the most illustrious families in the history of flamenco dancing on the tablao of Las Ramblas, on an unforgettable night where the purest flamenco displayed all its art, its goblin and its magic, and which will remain forever in the Retina of those who were there.
