Mercedes de Córdoba, first prize of dance in the XX National Contest of Flamenco Art of Córdoba 2013, is a bailaora of international prestige who, already in the beginning of her career, chose Tablao Cordobes as the best possible school to develop her technique. Now, with a consolidated career and several awards behind him, he returns to perform at the legendary tablao of La Rambla in Barcelona.
Dancer Belén López, National Flamenco Prize “Mario Maya” 2004 and Prize for the Revelation Artist for the Corral de la Pacheca 2005, has been one of the star artists during the month of April and has extended her performances until May 15 .
Karime Amaya is niece-granddaughter of the greatest and venerated universal bailaora of all time: Carmen Amaya. He has just returned from the USA, where he performed alongside first-rate artists, such as Jesús Carmona, taking flamenco to the most emblematic theaters in the United States, such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center or the New York City Center in New York; the Chicago Symphony Center or the Palace of Fine Arts of San Francisco.
The career of José Maya, Best Dancer in the Choreography Competition of the Albéniz Theater in Madrid 2010, has been unstoppable, reaching as a support act for prominent international pop stars as a guest artist of Marc Anthony on his Spanish tour “Valió la pena” and has collaborated with leading national artists, such as Güito, Ramón el Portugués, Javier Barón, La China, Estrella Morente, Gerardo Núñez, Carmen Cortés, Belén Maya, Ketama, …
“El Choro Molina” has acted in many clubs and Andalusian theaters and has worked in the companies of Israel Galván, Eva la Yerbabuena (with the show “Eva”), Mercedes Ruiz and Rafael Campallo, performing at the Flamenco Festival of Monterrey in Mexico , at the International House of Philadelphia, The Danny Kaye Playhouse in New York, the Miami Festival and many more.
Flamenco 5 Estrellas also has a cast of luxury singers: Antonio Villar, who from 2001 to the present alternates his work in the companies of Farruquito and Tomatito; La Tana, who began her professional career singing for companies such as Joaquín Cortés or Farruquito and which was signed by Paco de Lucía after he heard her sing in a bar in Seville; and Guillermo Campos “Morenito de Illora”, who, in addition to collaborating continuously in the cast of the main national tablaos, is carrying out a great work as a producer, promoting new values or established artists.
The cast is completed, at the touch, by guitarist Juan Campallo, Carlos Enrique Jiménez and David and Israel Cerreduela, son and grandson, respectively, of El Nani, guitarist of well-known talent in the professional field of flamenco.
For all these reasons, it can be said that Flamenco 5 Estrellas is a real show of current flamenco. Do not miss it!
