Auxi Fernández, dancer born in Cádiz. Auxi started to dance when she was only five years old at Pilar Ogalla’s dance school. She has perfected her technique with great masters such as Manolo Marín, Adela Campallo , Chiqui de Jerez and Güito.

During Auxi’s career, she has performed as guest artist with great figures such as Chick Corea, Jorge Pardo, Simon Shaheen, Tim Ries, Jose María Bandera, Tito Losada or Juan Pérez Rodríguez, among others, and has shared the stage with others such as Carles Benavent, Concha Buika Niño Josele, Jeff Ballard, La Tana or Alain Perez.

In 2005, after three and a half years in Sara Baras’ dance company, Auxi was invited by Chick Corea to record the DVD “Touchstone” at Barcelona’s Musical Theatre. After this recording, she went on tour with him to Japan, USA and Spain. That same year Auxi started studying interpretation at Juan Carlos Corazza’s International Studio in Madrid.

In 2013, after two world tours with different artists and already living in New York, she decides to create her first production “Encontrándote”, her debut as choreographer. Based on a real story, she merges flamenco and interpretation for Tucson’s Flamenco Festival. A year later she creates “Caminos”, premiered at New York’s Flamenco Festival and presented at Chicago’s Flamenco Festival and at New York’s Thalia theater. Some of her other productions are “Flamenco”, which led Auxi to receive a nomination as best Musical Theatre production in 2014 ACE Awards (New York) and “Aires Flamencos”, presented at 2015 Chicago Flamenco Festival.

While still young, she is a very well known flamenco dancer and has performed in the most important tablaos in Madrid and Barcelona. With a fiery charisma on stage, she is a very resourceful dancer, thanks to her wide techinque and her training in interpretation.
