Cynthia Cano Candel, known as Cynthia Cano, was born in Murcia (Las Torres de Cotillas) in 1993. She began her career in the world of dance and flamenco when she was 2 years old with her teacher Maria Dolores Ros. Despite his youth, she already has on his back a long and prolific career cemented with her talent and professionalism. She possesses an exquisite technique and a particular personality that make of its dance a flow of emotions and feelings.

Academic Studies
2001: Begins her studies in the Professional Conservatory of Dance of Murcia and finishes them with Honorary Degree in Flamenco in 2010.

Cristina Heeren Foundation Scholarship in Seville with 9 years where she receives classes from Milagros Mengibar, Carmen Ledesma and Rafael Campallo.

Different courses at the Center of Flamenco Amor de Dios, with teachers such as La Tati, Merche Esmeralda, Manuel Reyes Maya, La Truco, Cristóbal Reyes, María Juncal, Alfonso Losa, Concha Jareño, Gala Vivancos, Antonio Canales and others. In addition, there she met with Eduardo Serrano “El Güito” and Javier Latorre, two great artists with whom she maintains a deep personal and artistic friendship and with whom she has had the enormous opportunity to work. All of them have helped Cynthia to become the dancer she is today. This formation, added to her daily hard work and the guidance of Maria Dolores Ros, allows her to correctly paint her own expressive language and dance style.
Career
Her shows have allowed her to travel half the world offering great beauty and scenic solvency. The specialists’ criticism confirms that she is a great flamenco dancer. Countries like Cuba, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Tangier, Panama, Ecuador, France, etc. have already been witnesses of her excellence. Returning to Spain, Cynthia works in the main tablaos of Madrid as well as in the Peña la Platería de Granada and the Summers of the Corral del Carbón de Granada as a guest artist, and in the Flamenco Summit at the Teatro Circo de Murcia. The Festival Amonos pal Flamenco de Úbeda, the De Flamenco Va, the World Flamenco Fair in Seville, the Instituto Cervantes in Tangier, the Festival of Lo Ferro and other spaces. She has shared stage with great figures, from Antonio Canales to Manuela Carrasco. She has participated in Eduardo Serrano’s” El Güito” shows with the dancers Rafael Peral, Jesús Carmona and Miguel Téllez. She has danced in her last show with Javier Latorre, National Dance Award 2012, as a couple. It will be precisely this master, choreographer and dancer, who offers the opportunity to participate in the music video of Carmen Amaya, along with Karime Amaya and other consecrated figures of the moment.

Since 2009, she has been part of the Lo Ferro Flamenco Ballet, the official ballet of the International Flamenco Cante Festival of Lo Ferro and from 2014, due to the loss of the ballet regular dancer, Toñi García, she started to occupy the position of assistant director. In 2013 she was guest artist next to the winner of the Lámpara Minera 2013, Ricardo Fernández del Moral, in La Cumbre Flamenca where “El Pele”, María Toledo and India Martínez participated among others. In 2014 she performs a powerful performance at the Valladolid LAVA in the “XI Jornadas Flamencas” where she presented for the sixth time her show Flamenco del Alma Mía. In 2015 she acts in numerous Festivals of France next to Nino de Los Reyes, Triana Maciel and Olga Llorente. In October 2015, she premiered at one of the most important shows of Teatro Romea, “De Alfa A Omega”, both for the costly production and for the number of artists involved. Artists such as the dancers Juan de Juan and Cristian Lozano, the singers Vicente Gelo and Miguel Lavi, the piano of Alfonso Aroca together with other great musicians of the national panorama. The scenic direction was in charge of M. Dolores Ros who also adapted the immortal work of Federico García Lorca “Poet in New York”. In 2016, she premieres a new show: “Bailaora de Postín”, a visual story representing three great dancers, Pastora Imperio, Carmen Amaya and Matilde Coral, with a great cast, the dancer “El Torombo”, the guitars of “El Perla” and Luis Medina, the singing of Miguel Lavi and Bastian. With this proposal she participates in:
– Flamenco Festival of Bayonne in France
– Flamenco Festival of La Iruela (Jaén)
– Festival of Flamenco Cante of San Pedro del Pinatar together with artists such as Mayte Martín and El Sorderita.
– 2017 Nuit des Musées de Bâle, France. Fondation Fernet-Branca, performance show by Valerie Ruiz.
– Opening performance of the Flamenco Summit 2017, at the Teatro Circo, with an absolute full house.
Awards
2005-2006 Finalists in the flamenco dance competitions of UBRIQUE, RONDA, ESTEPONA.
2011 Finalist in the International Dance Competition of Almería.

2012 First prize in flamenco in the City of Castellón Dance Competition where the jury full of great masters congratulated his good work.

Finalist of the Dance Contest of the 52nd International Festival of the Cante de Las Minas, in 2012, with a magnificent cast, from Gabriel de la Tomasa and Pepe el Bocaillo singing and Aquilino and Juan Jiménez at the guitar. She managed to pass the semifinal with great reviews and got to compete for the Desplante Award in an exciting final, finally getting the award the Catalan dancer Jesus Carmona with whom she had danced on numerous occasions. She was the first dancer from Murcia to reach the finals in said Festival.
