El Junco

El Junco started dancing in the flamenco group El Nazareno. Soon he joined the Dance Group Soleá by Vicente Marrero and enrolled in the school of dance of the group Enrique el Mellizo where he learnt the flamenco from Cádiz. Her career continued with Juan Belmonte (Jerez) and Manolo Marín (Seville).

STUDIES: El Junco started dancing in the flamenco group El Nazareno. Soon he joined the Dance Group Soleá by Vicente Marrero and enrolled in the school of dance of the group Enrique el Mellizo where he learnt the flamenco from Cádiz. Her career continued with Juan Belmonte (Jerez) and Manolo Marín (Seville).
CAREER: He joined the company of Cristina Hoyos in 1996 until 2005 with the shows “Caminos Andaluces”, “Arsa y Toma”, “Al Compás del Tiempo”, “Tierra Dentro”, “Tiempo y Compás” and “Yerma”, presented in the Flamenco Andalusian Ballet in which he worked as a dancer and choreographer since 2005 until 2007 with the shows “Viaje al Sur” and “Romancero Gitano”.

In 2007 presented the successful show “Junquerías” with David Palomar, David Lagos, Ramón Amador and Susana Casas. He also released “Cádiz” collaborating as director and first dancer.

In 2009 presented “Por un Sueño” with Susana Casas and later “Mirando al Pasado” in Seville also with Susana Casas and Loli Flores.

He is preparing the show “Bailaores” with Juan Ogalla, also from Cádiz.
FESTIVALS:
He has performed in important festivals such as the Jerez Festival 2007, the Festival Ciutat Vella 2007, the Flamenco Festival La Villette and others in New York, Tokyo, Paris, Berlin, Beijing, Milan, Toronto or Florence.
AWARDS:
He was awarded with the Award Max in 2008, the Award Peña Flamenca de Huelva and the Award Alegrías Ciudad de Cádiz.
