Eugenio Santiago took a guitar for the first time when he was only eight. His father, Leonides Santiago, was his mentor and teacher until he was twelve, when he began to receive instruction from the master Luis Reinaldos for several years. Currently, and with only 25 years, Eugenio is considered by experts as one of the most promising figures of the new generations of guitarists of Barcelona. Versatile guitarist, he has a soniquete (rhythm sense) out of the ordinary and knows and is able to accompany all flamenco types. Throughout his career he has been recognized with several awards, among them we can mention the first prize of the international contest of Hospitalet and also the first prize to the best accompaniment to cante por bulerías (a type of flamenco). He has worked in the main tablaos of the peninsula, including Tablao Cordobes, and also has played in the Flamenco Suma of Madrid. Regarding to his comrades on the stage, Eugenio has shared tables with artists such as Farru, Joselillo Romero, Juan de Juan, Belén López, Morenito de Illora, Simón Roma, and a long etcetera. This young guitarist arrives at Tablao Flamenco Cordobes to finish his apprenticeship as flamenco guitarist. We have no doubt that he will become one of the top representatives of flamenco guitar in Barcelona during the following years.
