Marina Valiente

Since she was a child her parents, dance teachers, instilled her in the flamenco art. At the age of 3 she made her debut in a stage and continued performing until the age of 10.

PLACE OF BIRTH: Seville, in a family of artists (musicians, actors, dancers, etc.)

CAREER: Since she was a child her parents, dance teachers, instilled her in the flamenco art. At the age of 3 she made her debut in a stage and continued performing until the age of 10.

She stopped performing for academic reasons but her passion and instinct leaded her to search her place in the flamenco world at the age of 19.

First, she was under the doctrine of José Galván with whom she discovered herself and decided that her future would be the flamenco.

From that moment on, she has learnt from many professors and has been inspired by the most experienced and acclaimed artists such as Belén Maya, Rafael Carrasco and Diego Carrasco.

In 2002 she shared stage with Israel Galván in the show “Galvánicas” and in 2004 she performed along with Belén Maya and Rafaela Carrasco in the Theatre Central in Sevilla.

She has joined several companies such as the one of Rafael Campello “Puente de Triana”, Felipe Mato “Calle Sierpes”, Andrés Peña and Pilar Ogalla “Cádiz de la Frontera”.

She has also performed in the Festival Temporada of Girona “Lola la Comedianta” under the direction of Jordi Prat, musical direction by Marina Abad and choreography by Belén Maya.

She was part of the show by Pastora Soler in Egypt and performed also in a theatre in Tetouan, Morocco, where she also participated in the international festival of Volubitis.

From 2009 to 2011 she toured Portugal visiting the main cities of the country. She has also performed in many other countries over the world such as Russia, Austria, Korea, France, Japan…etc. In Spain she has performed in the best tablaos such as “El Cordobes” in Barcelona or “Las Brujas” and “El Arsenal” in Seville.

Nowadays, she performs and teaches private tuitions.

AWARDS: Second award in the National Contest “por alegrías” La Perla de Cádiz, 2011; and third award in the National Contest Young Flamencos 2007.
