Marta Cañizares

A talented flamenco dancer born in Arroyo de la Miel (Benalmádena, Málaga), has established herself as one of the most promising artists on today’s flamenco scene. She completed her Professional Flamenco Dance Studies at the Pepa Flores Conservatory and earned a degree in Flamenco Dance Pedagogy at the Ángel Pericet Higher Conservatory of Dance in Málaga. Her training was further enriched at the School of Young Flamenco Artists of the Málaga Federation of Flamenco Clubs, under the guidance of Susana Lupiáñez “La Lupi”.

Throughout her career, Marta has refined her artistry by participating in masterclasses, festivals, and seminars with renowned flamenco figures such as Eva Yerbabuena, Antonio Canales, and Rubén Olmo. She also collaborated as répétiteur for “La Lupi” with the Ballet Nacional de España in the production “Alento y Zaguán”.

In 2018 she received the Best Dancer Award at the Málaga Crea competition. Since then, she has performed in prestigious tablao flamenco venues in Málaga, Madrid, and in major Barcelona flamenco shows, sharing the stage with acclaimed artists. Since 2015, she has been part of Antonio Andrade’s Flamenco Company, touring internationally with productions such as “Carmen” and “Flamenco Suite”.

Currently based in Seville, Marta continues to perform in leading tablao flamenco venues across the city. In 2024, she joined Mercedes de Córdoba’s company, taking part in the premiere of “OLVIDADAS, a las sin sombrero” at the Bienal de Sevilla, one of the world’s most prestigious flamenco festivals.
