Tablao Flamenco Cordobes keeps its 45 year long defense of authentic and high quality flamenco with a new cast in June with a few new faces in a show for the most demanding.
We present Pepe Torres for the first time in Tablao Flamenco Cordobes. Born in Morón de la Frontera (Seville), he belongs to a flamenco artists family. Since little he has danced in many parties, festivals and flamenco social clubs (peñas). At 11 years old he starts his formation in flamenco dance with masters such as Farruco and Rafael "el Negro". He is a creative dancer, as he has lived the flamenco idiosyncrasy (the "duende") in his home, and his dance is far from dramatic and spectacular technical tricks but stands out for its natural spontaneity. He is the main dancer in the Son de la Frontera band, who had resounding success and received excelent critics (Critics Award, Madrid, Award to the Best Live Show of the Year). They were also nominated to the Latin Grammys in 2007 and awarded as the best european band by the London BBC.
Sergio Aranda and Mariví Granado come back to Tablao Flamenco Cordobes, after they visited out stage last april, bringing in the Málaga flair, their homeland. Sergio has performed in many festivals and theatres, both national and international, of great importance, such as the Nou Barris Festival in Barcelona, the Cumbre Flamenca in Madrid, the Shangai World Music Festival, the Suma Flamenca Festival in the Albeniz Theatre in Madrid, the Flamenco Festival in San Pedro del Pinatar (Murcia), the International Festival of Berlín or the Disney's The Lion King Canada and USA tour. Mariví has trained with great artists, such as Mercedes Ruiz, Iván Vargas, Paco Mora, Pastora Galván, Eva la Yerbabuena, Oscar Quero, Juan de Juan, La Moneta, Rocío Molina, Israel Galván, Domingo Ortega, Marcos Flores, Alfonso Losa, Rafaela Carrasco, Isabel Bayón and Manuel Liñán and we can highlight her great performances in the most important tablaos in Madrid and in Tablao Flamenco Cordobes, of course.
Belén López keeps collaborating with us side by side for even another month. Prodigy child, she performed in Catalonia's National Day with only 5 years old in the inauguration of a street dedicated to Carmen Amaya. Her performance was alongside the legendary artists Pilar López and Antonio Ruiz Soler and in the presence of Pasqual Maragall, the major of Barcelona by then. At seven years old she won the TV contest "Bravo Bravísimo" and performed alongside the internationally famed dancer Ángel Corella. In December of 1994 she was invited by Corella to perform with him in a charitable show for UNICEF, presented by Concha Galán in Madrid. She has represented Spain in the International Tourism Fair (INTURFEST) in Saint Petesburg a few times already and has performed with her shows all over Europe: Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Russia, ...
Águeda Saavedra comes back as well. This promising young flamenco star is becoming the talk of the flamenco world for her performances in the best national tablaos and Tablao Flamenco Cordobes, of course. Born in Nerja (Málaga), she was the winner of the 1st Prize of the Ribarroja del Turia Dance Contest twice consecutively and won an internship to work in the Antonio Najarro Dance Company and won the award to the best performer. Even with her short career, she has already worked with stars such as Manuel Liñán and Esperanza Pericet.
With them, our unbeatable elite musicians cast, main characters in any show. La Tana, who fascinated the master Paco de Lucía when he heard her sing in a bar in Seville; David Cerreduela, guitar player for stars such as Lola Flores, Merche Esmeralda, Enrique Morente, el Cigala or Guadiana; Morenito de Íllora, Juan Manzano "Coco", Antonio Campos "Bocaillo", Tuto and Iván losada. A great cast for a June full of authentic quality flamenco once again.
