Premiere of Bajarí: The documentary of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) on Catalan flamenco.

On Friday, May 31, 2013, Winy and Karime Amaya together with their Bajarí colleagues closed the premiere of the film at the 16th edition of the DocsBarcelona Festival with a flamenco fiesta finale at the Plaza Salvador Seguí in Barcelona.

Tablao Cordobes and his artists, outstanding protagonists of the film

On Friday, May 31, 2013, Winy and Karime Amaya together with their Bajarí colleagues closed the premiere of the film at the 16th edition of the DocsBarcelona Festival with a flamenco fiesta finale at the Plaza Salvador Seguí in Barcelona.

The free flamenco show, open to the public, took place in the Salvador Seguí plaza, in front of the Filmoteca, with the same stars as the documentary and artists from Tablao Cordobes, counting on the goblin of the dancers Winy and Karime Amaya accompanied by the singers Juan Manzano El Coco and Mariano Santiago, the guitarists Tuto, the Tati and Santiago Aguilar and the Joni box.

Bajarí, shot partly in the Tablao Cordobes, explores the sense of belonging of the community of Catalan gypsies. Taking as its title the gypsy name of the city of Barcelona, ​​it reflects the reality of flamenco in Barcelona with, in the words of its director, an emotional journey through the eyes of a child and the art of a dancer in the heart of Flamenco .

The presentation of Bajarí in the 16th edition of the documentary festival of the city counted with the presence of Mr. Jaume Ciurana, Tinent d’Alcalde of Barcelona and the former mayor of Barcelona and former president of the Generalitat, Pasqual Maragall, as well as Eva Vila, the director, Luis Adame President of the Academy of Arts and Sciences of Flamenco, and its protagonists, among whom the young Juanito who improvised a dance by Bulerías as the end of the show offered by courtesy of the Tablao Cordobes Foundation, as the closing of the presentation of the documentary and within the events commemorating the year of Carmen Amaya.
