·First half of october: “Con Carmen Amaya en la Memoria” represented by its original lineup of artists

·Second half paves its way with Farru and Karime Amaya, main dancers of the show “Los Farruco y los Amaya”

Tablao Flamenco Cordobes Barcelona celebrates the arrival of Autumm with a double exclusive show. During the first half of October, the historical tablao of Las Ramblas will welcome the acclaimed show “Con Carmen Amaya en la Memoria” with its original lineup of artists: Jesús Carmona, Paloma Fantova and Karime Amaya. An in-house production created to pay tribute to the famous dancer Carmen Amaya during the centenary of her birth.

During the second half of the month we will be able to see the conmemorative show of the 45 years of history of Tablao Flamenco Cordobes and a tribute to 2 big family names in the flamenco world: Los Farruco and Los Amaya. The show will be lead by Farru, grandson of Farruco, and Karime Amaya, granddaughter-niece of Carmen Amaya.

2 productions that have already gained the attention of both the flamenco purists and the international critics. These shows have also been played in many national and international festivals like Festival La Villette, Los Veranos de la Villa, Flamenco OnFire, Mercat de les Flors, Teatro Lope de Vega, Festival Docs o Gran Festival Flamenco de Barcelona, among others.

Playing one of the leading roles in “Con Carmen Amaya en la Memoria”, until October 10th we will be able to see Jesús Carmona, winner of 2012 Desplante Award and one of the best flamenco dancers and choreographs of the current flamenco panorama. Alongside him will also perform during the whole month Karime Amaya, winner of Revelation Award in Jerez Festival 2013 and granddaughter-niece of Carmen Amaya. Carrying on with the lineup of dancers, until 14th October we will count on with the inestimable presence of Paloma Fantova, Andalusia Revelation Award winner and La Venecia Flamenco award winner. These artists conclude the original lineup of the show.

From October 16th to 31st, Antonio Fernández Montoya “Farru” will be back on Tablao Flamenco Cordobes stage. He, alongside Karime Amaya, will perform in the show “Los Farruco y Los Amaya”.

Accompanying them during the second half of the month, we will be dazzled again by the art of Sara Barrero, a Catalan Dancer with a long and valuable career on her back. Finally, Saray Garcia, dancer from Jerez de la Frontera (Andalusia) who has performed in many international theatres, will also be in the tablao

Farru

The Farruco family is the most important saga of flamenco dancers. El Farru, the second of the three brothers that are heirs to this saga, will be on Tablao Flamenco Cordobes’ stage from the 20th until the 30th of September. He has created and presented his own shows in the most important stages of the world, with New York’s City Center as an example. He has also performed with international music stars such as Mark Anthony, Beyoncé, Paulina Rubio or Björk and was on tour with the Maestro Paco de Lucía, who sadly passed away recently.

Jesús Carmona

On the first week of September, the prestigious dancer and choreographer will be on this historical stage. This Catalan dancer is currently one of the top performers in the most important national and international flamenco festivals. He was first dancer of the Spanish National Ballet for 5 years and has collaborated with some of the best flamenco artists. His dance style, perfectly polished with hard work since he was a kid, allows him to use his virtuous technique to create his own aesthetic language. He has mastered the complex and rich subtleties of flamenco and is considered done of the most complete and acclaimed choreographers in the world.

Karime Amaya

We will have the pleasure to welcome Karime Amaya, close relative of Carmen Amaya and a dancer with a solid international reputation. Her dance is full of power and character and her art has already charmed critics and audiences all over the globe. Cities like New York, Tokyo, Alburquerque, Quito, New Mexico, Madrid or Mont-de-Marsan, among others, have already been witness to her performances.

Singers

The best dance has to be matched by our equally talented singers, reputable flamenco artists and musicians such as Juan Manzano “Coco” and Antonio Campos “Bocaillo”, two powerful voices that will resonate strongly on the walls of our stage during the month of September.

As representatives of the flamenco female singers, we welcome this month oneof the best voices from Jerez: Sara Salado.

Guitar

The glue that keeps the harmony and the performance together is the guitar, played masterfully by top performers this month:

David Cerreduela, son of the famous guitar player “El Nani”, has played for the most important flamenco artists and was Enrique Morente’s partner until he sadly passed away. His son, Israel Cerreduela, is keeping up with family tradition and is one of the most promising young talents, collaborating with some of the most important flamenco artists.

The third guitar on our trio will be Justo Fernández “Tuto”, a young talent from Barcelona that has collaborated with the most important companies and artists, such as Sara Baras or Farruquito.
