The new University is placed in the same place were it was the antic hotel Falcón and before that a tavern opened in 1977.

Despite being the University surroundings it is also the most wildest part of La Rambla. Big kiosks, similar to rectangular boxes, full of magazines, newspapers and postcards of Parque Güell, Copito de Nieve and the Barça football players welcome us. There are also a lot of terraces from the bars full of tourists who drink the famous “sangría”, a drink that people from Barcelona don’t used to drink but the visitors insist on trying.

The wide central pavement of La Rambla is full of caricatures and spry painters who show the Bohemian character of this beautiful part of the path. In the first floor of the buildings there are restaurants, souvenirs shops and other stores. It’s normal that this part of La Rambla is known as Pla de les Comèdies (Plain of the Comedies) or Theatre Square.
