Tast a La Rambla grows and in 2019 it will last for five days (from 6 to 10 June), taking advantage of the Monday holiday of the Second Easter. The Tast a La Rambla will offer more than 40 tastings through restaurants and bakeries in the city, in addition to programming various free activities such as cooking workshops, tastings, musical performances or showcookings.

The central activities will take place in La Rambla de Santa Monica, with numerous gastronomy stalls in which some of the most important venues in the city of Barcelona take part.

News of the Sixth Edition of Tast a La Rambla

The establishments taking part this year will be divided into five thematic areas: Traditional Cooking, Author’s Cooking, Pastry, Tapas and Dishes and, this year and as a novelty, the Metropolitan Kitchen will be incorporated. Under the terrace of Arts Santa Mònica will be installed a special area for the exhibition “Som gent de profit” (“We are profitable people”), a campaign focused on raising awareness about the food waste launched by the Waste Agency of Catalonia. This exhibition will host the show “La Nevera de Profit” (“The Refrigerator of profitable”) with magic, humour and awareness.

In the lower part of La Rambla, near the statue of Colón, there will be musical performances with Mùsics de Carrer de Ciutat Vella and de la Raval’s Band. In Arts Santa Mònica there will also be didactic activities, showcookings, workshops and tastings, free of charge. This year the three restaurants that won the second edition of the Barcelona Restoration Prize stand out: Granja Elena, El Tomás de Sarrià and En Ville, the latter with a stand at the fair.

The organization – formed by Amics de La Rambla and Grupo Gsr – plans to increase the 630,000 visits and 120,000 tastings of the previous edition. “As it coincides with a festive day, we have decided to extend the programme one more day, which is why we expect a great success in terms of citizen participation”, they explain.
