Antonio Molina “El Choro”

 

He was born in Huelva in 1985. He learned the basics of flamenco from his father “El Choro” He broadened and deepened his training with Manolo Marín and Javier Cruz, until in 1999 he won the II Huelva Youth Flamenco Dance Contest organized by the Cristina Heeren Foundation , thus settling in Seville to continue his studies at this school with teachers such as Javier Barón, Israel Galván, Rafael Campallo among others.

In 2002 he was part of the Israel Galván company in the show “Galvánicas” premiered at the XII Bienal de Flamenco.

 

And the following year he participates in the tour of the show, “Rafael Campallo y los Jovenes Flamencos”, with which he performs at the “Festival Flamenco” in Monterrey, Philadelphia, New York and at the “Miami Festival”.

 

In 2004 he performs at the Festival de Jerez in the show by Adela and Rafael Campallo with whom he premieres, at the XIII Bienal de Flamenco “Don Juan Flamenco” and they work in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. That same year he was part of the Eva la Yerbabuena Company, with the show “Eva”.

 

In 2006 she participated in the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla within the Cycle “Young Promises”. And in that same year, Javier Barón counted on him for his show “Two voices for a dance” performing in Los Angeles, Paris, Seville, Córdoba and Jerez.

 

He performs again at the 2008 Bienal de Sevilla, this time as part of the “Jóvenes Valores del Flamenco” Company with the work “Tiempos Pasados” directed by Juan Dolores Caballero “El Chino” which premieres at the Alameda Theater.

 

From 2009 to 2012 he was part of the Manuela Carrasco Company for the premiere of the show “Suspiro Flamenco” at the Central Theater in Seville and for the following tour of the most emblematic stages in Japan, and he continues to be part of the Javier Barón Company. with whom he premiered the show “Vaivenes” at the XVI Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla.

 

In 2013 he is part of the guitarist company of Niño de Pura illustrating his recitals and is a guest artist in Juana Amaya’s show, “Morón Baila”.

 

Since 2015 he has been part of the Vicente Amigo Company with which he is still present to this day.

 

In 2016 he premiered his first solo show: “Aviso: Bayles de Jitanos” at the XX Festival de Jerez, under the direction of Rafael Estévez and produced by the Cristina Heeren Foundation with the collaboration of the Andalusian Flamenco Institute, with which he won the Festival Revelation Award. Since its premiere, the show has been represented until 2018 in different places such as Tel Aviv, at the “Festival Días de Flamenco” in Albuquerque, “Iberica Contemporánea” in Querétaro, “Festival de Arte Flamenco” in Monterrey, “Festival Aire Flamenco” at Mont de Marsan, “Festival Andalou” in Avignon, “Tanzhaus Nrw” in Düsseldorf, Suma Flamenca in Madrid, the Gran Teatro de Huelva, and at the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla, among others.

 

In 2018 he premiered his second show: “GELEM”, this time directed by Manuel Liñan, at the Villamarta Theater within the XXII Festival de Jerez, also performed at the Gran Teatro de Huelva and at the Suma Flamenca de Madrid, at the Teatros del Canal .

 

In April of that year, he also presented a smaller show, “MI BAILE” in the cycle Los Jueves Flamencos de Cajasol and other cycles.

 

In 2019 he enters as a guest artist in the show “ÍNTIMO” by Miguel Poveda with which he continues to collaborate to this day.

 

His new production, “#SiDiosKiere”, premieres at the Villamarta Theater within the Festival de Jerez 2022 directed by Juan Dolores Caballero “El Chino”, in June it will be presented again at the Central Theater of Seville within the Flamenco Comes from the South cycle and in Huelva at the Huelva City Flamenco festival.

 

Carmen Young

 

Mexican dancer, originally from the city of Aguascalientes, Mexico.

She began her dance studies at the "Flamenco Vive" Academy.

 

From the age of eight she began taking courses with Cristóbal Reyes with whom she studied during her stay in Madrid in 2001. From 2012 she has continued her studies in Madrid and Seville, being her main teachers, Antonio and Manuel Reyes, Javier Baron, Carmelilla Montoya and Milagros Mengibar; she has also studied with Luisa Palicio, Mercedes de Cordoba, Adela Campallo and Lucia "La Piñona", among others.

At the age of 18 she was a repeater of Cristobal Reyes in his 2011 and 2012 tours of courses in various cities in Mexico, and was the winner of the scholarship for Study Abroad awarded by the Cultural Institute of Aguascalientes, Mexico through the State Fund for Culture and the Arts, FECA 2012-2013 with which she studied at Amor de Dios.

She was part of Maria Juncal's company "Bailamos Flamenco" 2013 as a soloist dancer in the theater of Mexico City. She has performed in various theaters, halls, tablaos such as Cardamomo, Villarosa, Las Carboneras, La Pacheca and Candela in Madrid, Casa del Arte and Jardines de Zoraya in Granada, flamenco cycles and distinguished festivals such as "Flamencos y Mestizos" directed by Paco Ortega in Madrid (2015) solo, In Bilbao (2017) together with Antonio Molina "El Choro" and Úbeda (2019) in which he premieres his first proposal "Calle de la Compañía" and repeat that same year in June in the IV Festival Esprit de _Bayonna. In Jerez where she was a soloist in the XX Festival de Jerez with the show "Eclosión" of the Cristina Heeren Foundation and as corps de ballet in "Flamenconautas" directed by Javier Latorre in the XXII Festival de Jerez.

In November of that year she performs with Rosalía at the MTVEMA's in Seville and collaborates in 2020 and 2022 with the Dior brand for brand events. Currently repeating the show "#SiDiosKiere" by Antonio Molina "El Choro" which premiered on March 3 at the XXVI Festival de Jerez at the Teatro Villamarta.

In 2022 she receives the First Prize in the first edition of the Tablao Los Amayas contest and in the 31st Spanish Dance and Flamenco Choreography Contest she receives 3 awards: Festival de Jerez for a performance in the 2023 edition, Residency at the Centro Coreográfico La Gomera and invitation as a choreographer in the Rosario Vancouver Company in Canada. In teaching she has been a repeater of Javier Baron (2015-2018), Carmelilla Montoya (2018-2019) at the Cristina Heeren Foundation at the same time she has been a teacher in basic level of that school, monitor and dance assistant in the singing and guitar classes of Juan José Amador, Paco Cortés, Pedro Sánchez among others (2015- 2019). She lives in Seville where she has been working since 2018 in the tablaos Teatro Flamenco Triana, Casa de la Memoria, Tablao El Arenal 

 Juan Fernández

 

 

He was born in Cádiz, the city where he began his studies of flamenco and Spanish classical. Throughout his artistic career he has been part of multiple companies with which he has toured around the world; such as the Charo Cruz company, the Chiqui de Jerez company, the Flamenco Ballet of Madrid, among others.

 

David Romero

 

 

Born in Barcelona into a family of flamenco lovers, he grew up attending to flamenco clubs in Barcelona. Romero has learned from artists such as Antonio Canales, Eva Yerbabuena, Rafael de Carmen, Güito, Rafaela Carrasco. He began his solo career in 1994 in some scenarios of Barcelona, ​​especially in “Tablao Flamenco Cordobes”.

 

He performed at the Antonio Mairena Memorial Flamenco Festival, in L’Hospitalet, where he shared the stage with Manuel Mairena, José Meneses and La Revuelo. In the show “Som D’Aquí” in the Auditorium of Cornellà, with Chicuelo, Miguel Poveda and Mayte Martín.

 

He won the Honor Prize “Carmen Amaya” for the most complete dancer in the Young Values Contest ​​in L’Hospitalet, he’s the only participant who has got 6 awards of the contest and participated in the Exhibition of Flamenco dancing alongside Rafael de Carmen, Milagros Mengibar and El Pipa.

 

He moved to Madrid where he is part of the different flamenco shows in Tablaos as “Las Carboneras”, with Concha Jareño are presented in “Café de Chinitas”, “Corral de la Morería” and “Casa Patas”. He has worked in companies as Juan Andrés Maya’s, guitarist Paco Peña’s, Rafael Amargo’s, Lola Greco’s, Joaquin Cortes’ “Pure Passion” with Rafaela Carrasco, Carmen “La Talegona” Lola Greco and Cristóbal Reyes, New Spanish Ballet (NBE), Juan de Juan’s company, Antonio Canales’ representing shows as Torero, Bernarda Alba, Bailaor, Minotaur… Presented at the Teatro Lope de Vega in Seville’s Bienal.

 

2004: Thanks to Cristina Hoyos he presents his group at the prestigious tablao “El Flamenco” in Tokyo (Japan). In the Guitar Festival of Tertulia Flamenca in L’Hospitalet (Barcelona) he presents a piece of his future show “Flamenco a 4”.

2005: In the VIIIth Choreography Competition in Madrid he was finalist with his choreography “Who says no?”. Then he moved to Sevilla where he works in the Tablao “Los Gallos”. Creates a company and releases its first show “Flamenco a 4” in the Madrid Sala Triángulo, getting good reviews from press and public.

 

2006: Gets the award for Artistic Work by the Andalusian Entities Coordinator Federation of Barcelona. Presents in the Youth Theatre of L’Hospitalet, the show “Who says no?”. Then he works for one season at Sala Triángulo in Madrid, Flamenco Festival in Beziers (France) and several events and festivals in Seville, Barcelona and Madrid.

 

2007-2008: He returns to Tablao “El Flamenco” in Tokyo (Japan).

 

Alongside guitarist Chicuelo, he is guest artist, choreographs and directs the Japanese dancer Shoji Kojima’s company, where he is nominated as best show of Performing Arts 2008. At Sala Apolo (Barcelona) presents his show “Corredera”. Back to Rafael Amargo’s company as a choreographer in his new show “Enramblao 2” in the Tivoli Theatre in Barcelona. Travels to Halifax (Canada) where he presents the show “Flamenco unipersonal” with Flavio Rodrigues and Pedro Obregón and makes various courses. Courses in Switzerland. 2013: David accompanies Duquende presenting his new album “Rompecabezas” on tour in Bruges (Belgium) and Ciutat Flamenco Festival 2013 in Barcelona. Creates “Flamenco Code” show presented in Barcelona. Collaborates with the Taller de Musics produced in Barcelona and, alongside the Catalan singer Sanjosex and Chicuelo, creates “Conexions” fusión show. With Chicuelo teaches at the School of Music Taller de Musics in Barcelona.

 

2014: He presents the show “Flamenco Forever”. Does a course in Switzerland and Sevilla. He is soloist in Flamenco de Madrid’s company in the show “Flamenco Experience” and the Apolo Theater in Barcelona. Teaches general classes and master classes in different schools of Barcelona.

 

Claudia Cruz

She also took contemporary dance lessons from Mijita Dakota, ballet lessons from Pacy Sánchez and Teresa Caudón and Spanish Classical dance from Fernando Galán and Silvia Oen.

Claudia has also studied drama with Caco Castelo, Eduardo Bernal and Manuel Morón.

 

CAREER: In 2001 she performed in the show Pregón Carnavalesco (Carnival Announcement) in Cadiz starring Sara Baras. In 2003 she collaborated with the theater company Los Ulen, with the Monaco ballet performing the work Carmen de Bizet.

 

In 2005 she travelled to Japan with the show Pasión Flamenca (Flamenco Passion) with figures such as Enrique El Extremeño, La Tobala, Pedro Sierra and La Moneta. The same year she toured with Andalusian Tourism showing andalusian flamenco in Europe.

 

Years later, in 2008, she joined the Cadiz Company, managed by the Andalusian Agency for the Development of Flamenco, sharing stage with artists like Junco, David Palomar, Rosario Toledo and Ana Salazar.

Her first show, Con Alma (With Soul) was released in Cadiz in 2009 with the collaboration as a guest artist of Enrique El Extremeño.

 

In the season 2010/2011 she played as a guest artist in the show Niña Pastori in Christmas, the first time that Niña Pastori introduces a dance artist in one of her shows.

 

She was part of Antonio El Pipa’s company from 2008 to 2012 as the first dancer being his dance partner in European and American tours and participating in several festivals such as Jerez Festival, Mont de Marsan, Parc de la Villete, etc.

 

In February of 2012 she participated again as guest artist in the Carnival Announcement of Cadiz La Pepa 2012 starred Niña Pastori. Claudia Cruz is a great flamenco artist and her art has been recognized several times. She has worked as a teacher and also in important tablaos such as Villa Rosa in Madrid and El Cordobes in Barcelona.

LORENA OLIVA was born in Barcelona in 1989. She began her first steps in dance at an academy at the age of 3 until she began her professional studies at the Institut del Teatre Professional Conservatory of Dance at the age of 13, graduating with a degree in Spanish dance and flamingo in 2010.
