Hiniesta López Cortés, a dancer known throughout the world as Hiniesta Cortés, is an artist born in Seville who has felt flamenco dance in her own skin since she was young. The dancer has received training from great figures such as José Galván, Mario Maya, Manolo Marín and Cristina Hoyos. At the age of 14 she was already dancing in the most important tablaos in Spain meeting great artists and at the end of the 80s she became the second dancer in Mario Maya’s company and toured the Netherlands with the company `Fiesta Gitana’ directed by Curro Vélez as a soloist dancer.
In 1991 he travelled to Japan and during the following years he performed with Cristina Hoyos’ company with one of the main roles in Federico García Lorca’s play ‘Yerma’ and during the following years she also worked in the shows ‘Sueños Flamencos’ and ‘Caminos Andaluces’ dancing in theatres and festivals all over Spain and in countries such as Scotland and France. In 1992 Hiniesta Cortés danced at the opening ceremony of the Barcelona Olympics.
In 1995 he formed a group to work in ‘El Flamenco’, a distinguished tablao in Tokyo and during the following years he continued his artistic career touring in Japan, performing at the Biennial of Flamenco Art in Seville or touring in Japan with the show ‘Almas’, directed by Milagros Mengibar. In the year 2000 she was a soloist in the project’Nuevas Generaciones del Flamenco’ presented at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville and she is a dancer in Cristina Hoyos’ company with the show ‘Arsa y Toma’.
During the first years of 2000 Hiniesta Cortés toured the Netherlands with her own group and was invited by Rafael Amargo’s company at the Teatro Lope de Vega in Madrid. The dancer presents her own show’El Baile de Sevilla’ with her group at the Institut Arabe de Paris and tours all over France in 2002. The following year he toured Japan and in 2004 he performed the premiere of the show’Abanicos Bajo el Agua’ at the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla with the invited artists Duquende and Niño Josele. With this show he tours Japan and Chile.
In 2005 the dancer continued her great career in the world of flamenco with tours around the country and Italy with her group, as well as general flamenco classes in Seville. Between 2005 and 2010 Hiniesta Cortés continues to perform in theatres and festivals throughout Spain and the world, including Jerez, Seville, Barcelona and Japan.
In recent years, the flamenco dancer continues to share her art with the public in different parts of the world.
