Davinia Jaén

She started her career at the age of 14 in Jerez, she performed in many tablos and flamenco groups of the city and learnt from Juan Parrilla in the tablao El Lagar de tío Parrilla.

PLACE OF BIRTH: Jerez de la Frontera, 1983

FAMILY: She was born in a family of flamenco followers so she has lived surrounded of this tradition of flamenco art until becoming a great artist.

CAREER: She started her career at the age of 14 in Jerez, she performed in many tablos and flamenco groups of the city and learnt from Juan Parrilla in the tablao El Lagar de tío Parrilla. Later she moved to Seville where she had the honour of learning and keep growing as an artist along with José de la Tomasa, Paco Taranto, Jeromo Segura, Laura Vital, José Galván, Carmen Ledesma and many others.

She learnt sing with José Vargas “El Mono” and Joaquín “El Zambo”, saetas with Juan Romero “El Guapo”, she studied in the foundation of flamenco sing with Cristina Heeren.

She has worked in many tablaos as: El Flamenco, in Tokio; El Cordobes, in Barcelona; Las Tablas and Corral de la Pacheca, in Madrid; Los Gallos, Álvarez Quintero and La casa de la memoria, in Sevilla.

She has collaborated in records by great artists such as Calitxo Sánchez, Ignacio Fernández or Javi Cantero.

She joined the Spanish Ballet performing around the world: Israel, England, Turkey, China, Mexico, Italy, Brazil, EEUU, Russia…

She performed with Rubén Olmo in “Belmonte”, 2012; with Mercedes Ruiz in “Perspectivas”, Gran Vía Theatre, Madrid; with José Galván and Yacin Doudi (Espejo) in the Pavilion of Morocco, Seville; with Carmen Cortés in Pittsburgh; with Carmen Mota in Romeo & Julieta, Tenerife; in Fiesta de la Bulería, 2008; in Noche Buena Flamenca, in Flamenca zambomba Jerezana, directed by Diego Carraso in Teatro Quintero, Seville 2011; in Gira Misa flamenca with the Losada family and thePhilharmonic Orchestraof Bogota in Mexico and Colombia.

In 2014 she joined the proyect “Eterno Camarón”, still ongoing.
