Training: Dedication and artistry from her earliest steps
Born in Seville in 1994, Paula Comitre graduated from the Antonio Ruiz Soler Professional Dance Conservatory in Seville. Her passion for flamenco and unwavering commitment led her to join the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía in 2013 under the direction of Rafaela Carrasco, where she remained until 2016.
Throughout her career, she has worked with leading flamenco artists and broadened her training through various disciplines:

• In contemporary dance: Lorena Nogal

• In choreography and stage creation: Development of innovative proposals in international venues

A professional career destined to redefine contemporary flamenco

The first steps in flamenco

• Joined the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía under Rafaela Carrasco’s direction

• In 2016, joined David Coria’s company and performed in El Encuentro

• In 2017, performed as a solo dancer and choreographer in Nacida Sombra by Rafaela Carrasco’s company

• That same year, she launched her solo career, performing at top flamenco venues across Spain, including the iconic Tablao Flamenco Cordobes in Barcelona, where her artistry was praised by critics and audiences alike

Her rise as an international artist

• In 2019, she was a finalist at the International Cante de las Minas Festival

• In 2020, she took part in ¡Fandango! by David Coria & David Lagos, a show co-produced by the Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris

• In February 2020, she premiered Cámara Abierta at the 24th Festival de Jerez, winning the Best Emerging Artist Award

• In September 2020, she premiered Electroflamenco by Artomático at the Seville Flamenco Biennial, receiving the Giraldillo Revelación award
  In addition to her stage presence, Paula has led masterclasses at prestigious flamenco schools in Spain and abroad, sharing her knowledge and technique with the next generation of dancers.

Consolidation and new projects

• In February 2022, she premiered Alegorías (El límite y sus mapas) at the Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris, collaborating with contemporary dancer Lorena Nogal

• In March 2022, she performed in the chamber opera La Mujer Tigre, a co-production between Teatro Lope de Vega and Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville

• In May 2022, she premiered Cuerpo Nombrado at Festival Flamenco Madrid, a production later featured at major festivals such as the Flamenco Festival in London and the Festival de Arte Flamenco in France
  Throughout 2023, in addition to her artistic residency in Paris, Paula was invited to collaborate on experimental projects that combine flamenco with technology and contemporary dance, showcasing her innovative spirit
  She is currently in Paris on a creative residency granted by the Académie des Beaux-Arts at the Cité Internationale des Arts
