Born in a land of wine, sing and tradition such as Jerez De La Frontera, she is fortunate to grow up with an artist in the family, who instilled her passion for the stage and art.
She began her career in tablaos in Jerez like Lagar de Tío Parrilla, La Taberna Flamenca in Santiago and La Bodeguilla in the San Miguel neighborhood. Her fondness for this art advanced her career to give small concerts in different clubs of Jerez. In collaboration with Pepe Marin, she presented the play “Falling in love in Jerez” in the theater Villa Marta, with great success.
Years later she joined the flamenco band Sabor Jerez where she remains for six years, led by guitarist Fernando Moreno, touring Spain with flamenco recitals, festivals, processions, fairs and private parties, where Sara develops as an artist. They act in TV channels as well as Canal Sur and Canal 2 Andalucía, and even recorded a CD and DVD called Sabor Jerez.
Between 2002 and 2005 we can highlight her trip to Venezuela with Los Canasteros, her performance at the Festival of Bulería in Jerez, dedicated to La Paquera and her participation in the Mistela Festival and collaboration in the autumn festivals of Jerez in the cycle “Flamenco by neighborhoods”.
Sara moved to Madrid and worked with the Ruben Olmo company, in the main role of the flamenco play “Belmonte”, presented at the Teatro Lope de Vega (Sevilla), Central Theatre (Valencia) and Ceuta’s Festival, with big success. She also works during those years as a guest artist in the main tablaos of Madrid (Casa Patas, Corral de la Moreria, Las Carboneras …) singing for dancing, also taking her to work later in Barcelona’s Tablao Flamenco Cordobes.
In 2007 and 2008 she collaborates in the discs El Puerto por Navidad, by the Rancapino family, recording a theme from Terremoto; and disc artist Calixto Sanchez, with performances at the Biennale of Malaga, central Theatre (Sevilla), Teatro Alhambra in Granada and Seville Biennial (theater Lope de Vega). In this same year she worked in the flamenco company of Raul Ortega in New York and taught singing lessons. In 2009 she performed with a concert during the prestigious Festival de Jerez.
From 2010, hers career takes off, working in theaters around the world: Canada, Tokyo, Toronto, Greece or Mexico. Other highlights are her collaboration with the company of Antonio Canales with one of the leading roles in “The House of Bernarda Alba” and as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of Navarra, performing “El Amor Brujo” by M. de Falla, musical direction of the great master Cristobal Soler, getting very good reviews and wide acceptance by the public of Pamplona and Tudela. He has also played “El Amor Brujo” with the Orchestra of the Community of Madrid in the Zarzuela Theatre and “Fire” with the company of Antonio Gades.
