Yiyo

Discover El Yiyo, a leading flamenco dancer in Barcelona. International career, festivals, collaborations, and one of today’s rising stars in flamenco.

Miguel Fernández Rivas, known artistically as El Yiyo, was born in Barcelona in 1996 and is now recognized as one of the most prominent figures in contemporary flamenco dance. His career began at an early age: at just seven years old, he performed his first international tour in Taiwan as the lead artist of the show Flamenco Puro, in front of more than 1,500 people.

From the beginning, El Yiyo combined flamenco with formal training in classical and contemporary dance, developing a versatile and technically refined stage language. By the age of 18, he was already headlining more than 20 national and international festivals with his show Sueño Flamenco, performing in major venues and strengthening his position within the flamenco scene in Barcelona and abroad.

Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with leading flamenco artists such as Mayte Martín, Estrella Morente, Miguel Poveda, Farruquito, Eva Yerbabuena, and Duquende, among others. These collaborations place him firmly within the top tier of flamenco performers and reinforce his presence in high-level festivals and productions.

El Yiyo has also expanded into contemporary music and audiovisual projects, appearing in music videos such as Pa’ que brille by C. Tangana and Mala Suerte by Lola Índigo and Dellafuente. His work in fashion and film highlights his ability to adapt to modern artistic formats while maintaining a strong flamenco identity.

Together with his brothers, he leads productions such as El Yiyo & su Troupe and Jubileo, where tradition and innovation coexist. His stage presence, technique, and connection with the audience have positioned him as one of the leading names in flamenco in Barcelona today.
