Karime Amaya

Karime Amaya was born in Mexico in 1985 in a family of flamenco artists. She is niece-granddaughter of one of the most famous flamenco dancers Carmen Amaya. Karime has grown up with her mother’s wild dances and at the Mercedes Amaya Academy in Mexico City.

For the first time he comes on stage at the age of 9 years with the company of his parents: the guitarist Santiago Aguilar and the dancer Mercedes Amaya also known as La Winy. Karime Amaya begins to dance professionally in the same company, even being very young, at the age of 12 years.
Karime has participated in four editions of the Albuquerque International Flamenco Festival in New Mexico, a prestigious flamenco festival.
In the year 2003 bailaora has been presented at the Arts Presenters 46th annual members conference, New York. A year later, in 2004 Karime Amaya was dancing a six-month stint at the most important tablao in Tokyo, El Flamenco. In the same year Bailaora participates in the work “Bailaor” by Antonio Canales as a guest artist. The work debuted in Palma de Mallorca and then was presented at the most important tablaos in Madrid.
In 2005, bailaora participates in the 2005 Quito Flamenco Festival in Ecuador with “Los Losada”. Karime also performs at the International Festival, New Mexico, USA, 2005 and performs at the Casa Patas, Las Carboneras and Cardamomo tablaos, some of the most important tablaos in Madrid.
In the year 2006 Karime Amaya participates as guest artist in the Juan de Juan tour, in the show “Frente a Frente” with Ana Salazar. They have toured more than 30 cities in Spain such as Madrid, Seville, Granada and Barcelona. In the same year Bailaora has been invited to perform at the Flamenco Art Festival of Mont-de-Marsan in France, where she dances together with Gerardo Núñez, Antonio El Pipa and the Farruco Family.
In 2007 bailaora performs a tour in Japan, performing in major cities.
In 2008, Karime participates in the 10th Monterrey Flamenco Art Festival.
During 2009 Bailaora works in collaboration with famous bailaor Antonio Canales and guitarist Enrique de Melchor.
In 2011 Karime and her family premiered the play “Amaya Lineage”. The show in homage to the members of the Amaya Family.

During the years 2001 and 2012 Karime Amaya has participated in the filming of the documentary “Bajari” acting as lead actress. The director of the documentary is Eva Vila, scriptwriter, journalist and director of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
In 2012, Bailaora also presented her new work “Desde la Orilla” to the public. The show was presented at the Festival de Jerez and was inspired by the nights that Karime has spent on a beach on the other side of the Atlantic, dreaming of Somorrostro and inspired by the swaying of the waves, as well as the legendary Carmen Amaya.
This same year Karime Amaya appears as a guest artist in the show “Abolengo” by Farruquito, with which they go on tour in Costa Rica until the beginning of 2013. In addition, Dancer participates in the play “Dicen de mi” by Joaquín Cortes.
In 2013 Karime Amaya with Pastora Galván and Paloma Fantova participate in the show “Con Carmen Amaya en la Memoria”. They act as main dancers in this work tribute to Carmen Amaya. The show was produced by the Tablao Cordobes Barcelona Foundation and the Academy of Arts and Sciences of Flamenco Barcelona. Representations of the show have been made by Europe and Spanish capitals.

Cynthia Cano

Cynthia Cano Candel, known as Cynthia Cano, was born in Murcia (Las Torres de Cotillas) in 1993. She began her career in the world of dance and flamenco with only 2 years under the guidance of María Dolores Ros. Despite his youth, he has a long and prolific career built on his back, based on his talent and professionalism. He has an exquisite technical technique and a particular personality that make his dance a wealth of emotions and mixed feelings.

ACADEMIC AND COMPLEMENTARY STUDIES.

2001: He began his studies at the Professional Conservatory of Dance of Murcia and finishes with honors in Flamenco in 2010.

Studies Degree in Journalism at UDIMA, studying the 4th 2016/2017.

Scholarship from the Cristina Heeren Foundation of Seville with 9 years where she receives classes from Milagros Mengibar, Carmen Ledesma and Rafael Campallo.

Different courses at the Amor de Dios Flamenco Art Center, led by masters such as La Tati, Merche Esmeralda, Manuel Reyes Maya, La Truco, Cristóbal Reyes, María Juncal, Alfonso Losa, Concha Jareño, Gala Vivancos, Antonio Canales and some plus.
