WHO ARE WE?

Tablao Flamenco Cordobes Barcelona is the crystallization of the Adame family’s life. Luis and Irene, husband and wife, artists and founders of what this tablao means, lived the golden age of flamenco in Spain. They met and performed with artists that are considered legends of this art nowadays.

Their daughter, Maria Rosa, brilliant student, when she was still a child, attended to the Sevilla Fair in 1972 with his father Luis Adame. The friendship between Luis and the famous promoter Antonio Pulpón granted them access to the best flamenco parties of the time. Major Flamenco. On the last night in the famous Oromana's stall, a meeting point for all the bullfighting leading figures, Maria Rosa saw Matilde Coral dancing to Antonio Mairena’s singin, with that point of bliss that the intimate parties have. On that moment it became crystal clear, Maria Rosa wanted to become a dancer.

Even if it wasn't her father's wish, and under the promise of studying, Maria Rosa danced for years in Tablao Flamenco Cordobes. She had inherited the art of her mother and her aunt Mila de Vargas, another famous dancer of this family saga. Reputed lawyer, Maria Rosa is now Chief Executive Officer of the company and General Manager of Tablao Flamenco Cordobes along with her brothers.

Since its foundation in 1970, Tablao Flamenco Cordobes bets on the best artists of the time, now considered flamenco legends: Camaron de la Isla, Farruco, Manuela Carrasco, Chocolate, Juan Villar, La Tati, Manolete, Lole & Manuel or Bambino, among many others. That was its presentation card to the world and the golden pillar of its origins. Still today these values that remain very alive:

Our Values

• Faith: Faith in a quality product, even if hiring very expensive artists supposes an enormous cost and risk. Since the beginning, that risk has been well rewarded by the audience throughout our history.

• Evolution: We changed the routine of the classic tablao model for a stage presentation that keeps the freshness of flamenco within a theatrical setting. We also made the show into the heart of the night by eliminating denigrating habits towards the artists, regularly present by then in the tablaos, such as smoking, serving dinner or loud talks during the show.

• Ambition: The same that has driven us to present ahead of everybody many of the artists which ended up becoming flamenco stars: Eva la Yerbabuena, Belén Maya, Israel Galván, La Susi, Miguel Poveda, Montse Cortés, etc. A never-ending list that has marked the legend of this tablao flamenco, leaving an eternal legacy in this art.

The ceremony of delivery of the Silver Mosque was held on February 1 at 8:30 pm in the emblematic tablao of Las Ramblas and it was a fundraising event: its collection went entirely to a non-profit organization and Tablao Flamenco Cordobes contributed twice with the amount collected. The godmother responsible of delivering the Mezquita was La Chana, renowned representative of Catalan flamenco. Prominent members of both families such as Farruquito, Farru, El Carpeta, José Galván and Pastora Galván did also attend to the ceremony.
