Manuel Cazas

Manuel Cazas, born in Hervás (Cáceres), entered the world of the guitar with 16 years old, later than most guitarists, and had to self teach himself from the start. It quickly became his passion and he moved to Madrid to grow and enter the professional world, in La Soleá, where he got to accompany artists such as Rancapino, Pansequito, Cancanilla or Luis el Zambo, among others.

After some time, he finally started playing for dancers too, thanks to the Amor de Dios school, where he takes his first steps as a guitarist for dance, getting to work with very important dancers, such as Rafael de Carmen, Pepe Torres, La Farruca, El Carpeta, Los Moneo, Belén Maya, Merche Esmeralda, Pastora Galván, Belén López, Belén Fernández, Manuel Liñán, Marcos Flores, Oscar de los Reyes, Juan de los Reyes, Dani Navarro, Saray de los Reyes, Claudia Cruz, El Barullo, la Moneta, Manuel Reyes and Jairo Barrull, among many others.

Besides his work as a guitar player, Manuel Cazas is a great composer, having composed the music for the shows “Entre paredes” of Rocío Molina”; “Turquesa como el limón” of Rocío Molina; “Mujeres” with Mario Maya, Merche Esmeralda, Rocío Molina and Belén Maya and “Todo cambia” with Manuel Liñán, Belén López and Pastora Galván.

Manuel Cazas’ ample experience as guitar player and his versatility have opened him the doors of the most important stages of the flamenco scene in the world, such as El Flamenco tablao in Tokio, Casa Patas or Corral de la Moreria in Madrid; Los Gallos in Seville and Tablao Flamenco Cordobes in Barcelona. He has performed as well in the most important flamenco festivals in the world: Seville’s Biennal, Mont-du-Marsan Flamenco Festival, the Cante de las Minas International Festival, the Buenos Aires Biennal, El Grec and Alburquerque Flamenco Festival, in addition to visiting the theatres all over the world on tour: USA, China, Japan, Sweden, France, England, Turkey, Taiwan or Lebanon.

Recently, he started a new group, Flamenco Vibra, that introduces the xylophone as an innovation in flamenco music. The Italian Franco Bianco is the musician behind it; along with José Montaña, percussionist; the bassist Paco Perera from the Canary Islands, the singer Roberto Lorente from Madrid, and of course, Manuel Cazas with the guitar. Their repertoire consists of granaínas, tanguillos, bulerías and some jazz flamenco fusion.
